Degradation Station: PKF Studios Makes Some Killer Porn

If Internet porn can teach us anything (and it is replete with various lessons in both psychology and gymnastics), it's that humans are capable of growing bored of anything. Even the biological imperative with its instinctual urges and unique pleasures becomes a bit tiresome after enough exposure. That's where fetish indulgence comes from. While we have our compulsively associative minds to thank for our effectively infinite spectrum of kinks and quasi-sexual behaviors, it's that age-old, dangerous mix of curiosity and boredom that leads us to actually live them out. But under the unflinching microscope of the Internet, it also becomes apparent that, despite all our carnal creativity, our species still fixates on all the same vanilla aspects of sex. Case in point, the ultra-violent horror porn created by NSFW--->PKF Studios<---NSFW

PKF Studios is the lifelong work of a fellow with the innocuous name of John Marshall. Unlike a lot of porn mongers, standard and fetish-specific alike, the guy doesn't come off as a total creep. Well, unless you consider the faux-homicidal nature of the movies and images he produces. Marshall makes porn for the folks out there who get off on the idea of murder, autopsy, crime scenes and generally messing with the bodies of people who have recently shuffled loose this depraved coil by violent means. The PKF Studios website is illegal in many industrialized nations, England included, and it only stands to reason that the movies Marshall makes are considered cultural contraband. Heck, even in our own gore-obsessed United States, the late-period Rome of the 21st century, I'm pretty sure PKF videos are legally iffy.

For those of you who have had enough good sense to not click the very work-unsafe link provided above, suffice it to say that even reading the descriptions of the for-purchase videos at PKF Studios is difficult. Ironically, it's the movies with the least disturbing titles that end up providing the most troubling premises. Don't get me wrong, the descriptions for "Back Room Body" and "Abduct and Murder" are more than a little unsettling, but not so much as "The Ballerina" or "After School Special".

The proficiency of Marshall's work is really what makes it so creepy. He's clearly thought a lot about the details of murdering young women and all the things one could do with a fresh corpse. His descriptions read like the cold, detached accounts of serial killers and sociopaths, narrating premeditated strangulation with the same meticulousness as a gourmet chef instructing readers in the art of the perfect cheese souffle. These synopses, let alone the teaser images for the movies themselves, touch all those mental fear and revulsion buttons with eerie ease.

But there's something more mundane going on in the PKF murder fantasies. No matter how gruesome the scenarios, everything always comes down to somebody playing with somebody else's genitals, as most porn does. That ubiquitous nod to nature lends a disappointing predictability to all porn. It doesn't matter how strange or intense a kink is, it always comes back to diddling private parts. People get off on the idea of covering each other with liquid latex (and touching each other's genitals). They want to throw food around in the most messy fashion possible (while touching each other's genitals). And yes, there are even people who get all tingly at the thought of killing another person with their bare hands (then proceeding to touch their victim's genitals). This boring conclusion also serves as the one anchor that keeps John Marshall's sick kink from flying off to a realm of irretrievably alien desires.

How is this porn?: As mentioned above, all of Marshall's videos eventually lead to primary sexual characteristics. Also, he focuses almost entirely on young, traditionally attractive women. It may be fake murder, but it's still clear sexualization.

Why is this insane?: It's an entire porn company centered around the very specific murder and necrophilia fantasies of one individual. It's at the very least a manifestation of Borderline Personality Disorder.

Does this have any appeal outside the Internet?: Killing is older than sex. Serial killers have been getting their sexual jollies from murder for a very long time and our society has proven its love for less overtly sexual depictions of murder in popular cinema. As disturbing as it is to admit it, John Marshall's murder porn has a broad kind of appeal beyond the Web.

Wow, after 15 years, someone wrote something.  I should pertend to have some DSM4 condition just to fuel the comments--only 2 of them.  Well, I will just bore you instead.  I started doing this after giving up film school because it was a couple times a year and I got to see naked girls.  I was 24.  Now, I am 41.  Years have gone by, the internet has changed and the stories which did not start out with porn intent have become that.  I personally, would prefer to tell a great horror story with just copious amount of nudity.  But, alas, the market is driven by the consumer and since many people, employees and family depend on revenue and profitiability, I produce, #1, what sells to the small niche audience I market to, #2, custom productions--60% of what I make are funded by customers, and #3, what I like, which, every once and a while, I get to do.   I realize to the outsider they look sick, but I get the same feeling when I see televised bowling.  They are just targeted to different audiences.  Luckily, as adult, we can choose what we want to watch and not degrade others if we do not agree with their choises.  I choose to respect my peer, unless, of course, they shit in my lawn.  :-)

To bad this "reporter" could not have been the one to discover that the oil company's had no contingency plan for a spill or the worlds financial systems were play games that could topple the worlds economy.

But no. He picks a subject that will have no affect on the world regardless if PKF keeps producing or not. I guess there could be affect if PKF was forced to stop producing. Another step towards the total removal of your personal freedom.

Violence is down, way down in the US. Maybe that is because the views of violence in modern media are enough to make people think twice about actually doing it.

Get your nose out of film makers business & stick it in somewhere were like big oil or wall street. Once you got them acting right come talk to me & I'll give you your next assignment.

John is a pioneer. He doesn't produce his films for serial killers, he produces them for grown ups who's childhoods left them with an attraction to fantasies of this kind. 'Fantasy' is the key word here. Up intil the arrival of 'Necrobabes' in 1997, those of us carrying the 'burden' of this fetish collected horror films, bought Detective mags, read crime novels to satisfy it. Many of us had the courage to explain it to our wives and girlfriends who mostly understood in the context of childhood damage, and yes of course it all has its roots in childhood. None of us want to kill women, but are very appreciative of those women who understand and help us to live our lives without feeling like 'creeps' or 'wierdos' because society is so ready to judge and take a simple and common fantasy to the end of the spectrum judging us all as potential serial killers. Necrobabes was forced out of business, clip sites, certainly in the UK wont allow anything that suggests death, murder, etc. The models who work in the genre are just that, models. They get paid, not murdered. Well done John Marshall, well done Psycho-Thrillers, well done Nicheclips.com, well done for your courage, for recognising that through twists of fate in our early years, beyond our control because we were merely children, left us with this fetish. Thank you. Scott

I get responses like these a lot on this blog and they're all the results of poor reading comprehension. People always assume that if someone writes about something on the Internet without surrounding it with superlative praise, they must be mocking it. You'll note that I don't actually say anything expressly negative about PKF in the article, or at least nothing more inherently negative than his supporters have. I don't call for the site's removal or comment on the rightness or wrongness of any laws surrounding it. Saying that PKF is illegal in England is merely reporting a fact, not supporting it.

Furthermore, me calling the site a source for sick fetish material is just a more direct way of saying it's material for a fetish acquired "...in the context of childhood damage." Most fetishes are sick and most come from something that happened in our formative years. That doesn't make them inherently bad, but knowing where they come from doesn't make them vanilla.

Fortunately I don't often get responses like yours 'msarko'. Please don't apply your sweeping generalisations to me or sit in judgement of my ability to understand what you're saying in your initial blog entry, but I do appreciate your concern for my obvious inferior standard of literacy and comprehension. I won't generalise about you, having read several more of your blog entries just to qualify my comments. Clearly you are not a professional or you would know that rewriting is the art of the writer, and in that exercise one reads and re reads one's work. The idea of a blog is to attract followers who enjoy reading your work, not to play semantic games with those who've taken the time to read and then bother to reply. I shan't be returning but Dr Johnson was almost certainly predicting the birth of your illustrious blog when he said ;-

"One of the amusements of idleness is reading without the fatigue of close attention; and the world therefore swarms with writers whose wish is not to be studied, but to be read."

Please re read your initial post, then mine. It was my opinion and contribution, not provoked by your comments which at no time did I consider mocking. Having quoted one of the greatest lexicographers in history, it's only right I should end by bringing it completely up to date and suggesting for for a final piece of homework, the new Urban Dictionary, where you will find the term 'fuckwit' which also applies to you.

Well, just as long as you shan't be returning. It would be ever so terrible for you to sully these illustrious halls of talking about weird things on the Internet with your needlessly purple prose.
